Change the meaning of Polka as you know it! What you see at various festivals and events is just the peak of an iceberg. In Poland, every region has at least few different types of this energetic dance, in addition to waltzes, kujawiak, oberek and many more. If you are a fan of Polish Culture you definitely should not miss the GALA CONCERT of the Polish Folk Dance Association of America on FRIDAY, AUGUST 3rd at the Airie Crown Theater 2301 South Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, Illinois. Doors open at 7 and concert begins at 8 P.M.
The audience will be entertained by suits from the numerous parts of Poland performed by various members of the PFDAA such as the Krakowiak Dancers, Krakowiacy Polish Children’s Folk and Song Ensamble, Lechici Dancers, Michas Dancers, Polonia Polish Folk Dancers, Polish American Folk Dance Company, Lajkonic Dance, Wesoly Lud, Wici and Polish Falkons Nest just to name a few. |
