Ann Arbor has a significant and active Polish American Community comprised not only of Polish Nationals but also of Americans with Polish heritage, who feel strongly connected to their roots. The Community is enriched every year with newly coming students ready to attend one of the nation’s finest universities. This year the Polish American Congress with its Chapter in Ann Arbor along with Ann Arbor Polish Film Festival Committee and the U of M Polish Club organize a picnic to get the new season off to a good start. The event will take place on August 26, from 2 to 6 P.M. at the Dexter Huron Metro Park, 6535 Huron River Drive in Dexter, MI. “We typically meet at the last or one before last Sunday of August,” said Mr. Olszewski the President of the Ann Arbor Chapter of PAC. Although the picnic is an annual event, this year would be a first time when PAC collaborates on the idea with Student Organization (UM Polish Club), and Polish Culture Group of Ann Arbor, who will Co-Sponsor the event. In addition to the usual great atmosphere and delicious food, the picnic will also host “Auction of Treasures” as an auction to benefit PAC events and The Most interesting Beverage Vessel Competition, all are invited to participate in these activities. |
